This role is essential in ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes for both mothers and newborns. Key Responsibilities * Provide direct nursing care to obstetrical patients during labor and delivery * Monitor maternal and fetal well-being and respond to changes in condition * Support patients and families throughout the childbirth and recovery process * Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams * Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation * Respond effectively to high-acuity and emergency situations * Promote a safe, patient-centered care environment Minimum Qualifications * Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state * Certification: * Basic Life Support (CPR) – required * Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required within 6 months * Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – required within 6 months * Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of Labor & Delivery or relevant nursing experience preferred Core Competencies * Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills * Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations * Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care * Excellent communication and teamwork abilities * Commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism Employment Requirements * Compliance with all hospital policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered) * Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening (post-offer) Benefits Comprehensive benefits begin the first of the month following employment, in accordance with hospital policy.
