Position Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Medical/Surgical unit provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider. This role is essential in supporting patient recovery, monitoring clinical conditions, and delivering compassionate, high-quality care. Position Details * Employment Type: PRN (as needed) * Department: Medical/Surgical Unit * Schedule: Flexible; shifts and days vary * Travel: None required * Supervisory Responsibilities: None * Compensation: Commensurate with experience * New Graduates: Encouraged to apply Key Responsibilities * Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and treatments within scope of practice * Monitor patient conditions and promptly report changes to the care team * Assist with procedures and support patient care activities * Educate patients and families regarding care plans and recovery * Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards * Collaborate with Registered Nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members * Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive care environment Minimum Qualifications * Licensure: Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in North Carolina * Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required Core Competencies * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care * Ability to work effectively in a team environment * Attention to detail and strong organizational skills * Willingness to learn and grow in a clinical setting Employment Requirements * Compliance with all hospital policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered) * Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening (post-offer) Benefits PRN employees are eligible for select benefits in accordance with hospital policy.
