As a Senior Engineering Manager for Email Security, you will lead the team responsible for our flagship product. RESPONSIBILITIES * Lead and scale a team of high-performing engineers, providing mentorship and career development. * Own the delivery and execution of the Email Security roadmap, ensuring high velocity without compromising on quality or reliability. * Drive architectural decisions for complex, high-throughput distributed systems and platforms. * Partner cross-functionally with Product and Security teams to align technical strategy with customer needs. * Foster a culture of operational excellence, overseeing oncall rotations, incident response, and system health. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Extensive experience as a strong IC in distributed systems or backend infrastructure, with a proven track record of transitioning into successful engineering management. * Experience managing teams of engineers in a high-scale, high-growth environment. * Strong product sense and the ability to translate technical constraints into product tradeoffs. * Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional partners like Product and Security. * Startup agility: A low-ego, "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude with the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced settings. --- Material Security is a remote-first workplace with an office in San Francisco, California. Compensation at Material Security is determined by a range of factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
