Marketing Manager Resume Example: Stand Out in 2026

Marketing resumes live or die on numbers. Pipeline growth, conversion rates, ROI. A full example with the metrics and keywords that get callbacks.

Marketing manager resume example: resume with growth chart and marketing analytics icons

Marketing manager roles attract a lot of applicants. The field is broad, the title is common, and every company needs one. That means your resume competes with hundreds of others that all say some version of "developed marketing strategies to drive brand awareness."

Hiring managers in marketing scan for one thing above all else: did your work produce measurable results? Pipeline numbers, conversion rates, CAC, ROI, traffic growth. A marketing resume without metrics is like a sales resume without revenue figures. Technically complete, practically useless.

“I really feel for those of you searching for a position right now. I can't believe the number of applications I received in under a week. I cannot give every resume careful consideration when I'm going through a few hundred per day. I give resumes about 30 seconds to 1 minute tops.”

What Makes This Resume Work

  • Every bullet has a marketing metric: pipeline dollars, ROI ratio, CAC reduction, ROAS, lead count, conversion %. Marketing hiring managers think in these numbers.
  • Budget mentioned explicitly ($500K). Managing budget = managing accountability. It tells the hiring manager your level without them having to guess.
  • Tools named with precision: HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce, Semrush, Google Ads, Demandbase. Each one is an ATS keyword. "Marketing automation tools" won't match. "HubSpot" will.
  • Career progression shown: Specialist to Manager. Agency to in-house. Both paths are common in marketing and showing growth matters.
  • Team size included: "Led team of 4, grew from 2 to 4." Management experience with context, not just "managed a team."

Skills for a Marketing Manager Resume

Hard Skills (Skills section)Strategic Skills (prove in bullets)
Google Ads / Meta Ads / LinkedIn AdsDemand generation and pipeline growth
HubSpot / Marketo / PardotBudget management and ROI optimization
Salesforce (campaign reporting)Team leadership and hiring
Google Analytics 4 / MixpanelCross-functional collaboration (sales, product)
Semrush / Ahrefs / MozGo-to-market strategy
SEO (technical + content)Stakeholder communication and reporting
Email marketing (Mailchimp, Klaviyo)Vendor and agency management
A/B testing tools (Optimizely, VWO)Content strategy and editorial planning
CMS (WordPress, Webflow)Market research and competitive analysis
ABM platforms (Demandbase, 6sense)Marketing attribution and multi-touch analysis

Marketing JDs are absurdly tool-heavy. One posting might list 8-10 platforms. Name every one you've touched. "Marketo" and "marketing automation" aren't the same keyword to ATS. Be specific or be invisible.

Marketing is one of the most metrics-rich fields. If you ran a campaign, you have data. CTR, CPC, conversion rate, pipeline value, ROI. Put the numbers on the resume. "Developed marketing strategies" could be anyone. "$3.2M pipeline from content strategy" can only be you.

FAQ

Should I include agency experience on an in-house marketing resume?
Yes. Agency experience shows you can manage multiple accounts, budgets, and client expectations simultaneously. Frame it in terms the in-house hiring manager cares about: budget managed, results delivered, client retention. If you transitioned from agency to in-house, show how the breadth of agency work prepared you for depth.
Do I need to include a portfolio link?
For content, brand, or design-heavy marketing roles, yes. A link to 3-5 campaign examples, writing samples, or case studies adds proof beyond bullet points. For demand gen, growth, or analytics-focused roles, the numbers on your resume are the portfolio. Include a link if you have it, but don't force it.
How do I quantify marketing work if I don't have revenue data?
Use what you have access to: traffic growth (%), engagement rates, email open/click rates, leads generated, cost per lead, followers gained, content output volume. If you influenced pipeline but don't have exact revenue attribution, say "contributed to" with an approximate figure. Approximate > vague.
Should I list AI tools on a marketing resume in 2026?
If you use them productively, yes. "ChatGPT" alone isn't a skill. "Content production using AI-assisted drafting (reduced first-draft time by 50%)" is. List specific tools with context: Jasper for ad copy, Midjourney for visual assets, ChatGPT for research and outlining. Show how they made you faster, not that you can type a prompt.
